Overall the book was entertaining and I even want to find out what happens in the next installment. However, like many other reviewers said, there just isn't any character development.

First and foremost, our more than human angel - Bethany, goes with the flow of time and eventually graduates Bryce Hamilton. The author even notes how "they didn't look like teenagers in need of direction anymore; they were young people ready to make their own way in the world." (P. 413) Additionally, while with Jake, Bethany comments how his actions will have consequences. To add insult to injury, even after seeing Taylah, Bethany doesn't take in her own advice. Even going into the next book, one is left thinking: "Ok, so this is ALL about Bethany."

The one quote that summed up the writing for me was: "And you know how pendantic demon princes can be." (P. 77) Why this quote? The immediate thought that came to mind, "Could have seen that one coming a mile away!"
