I enjoy all of Andrews' series and this delightful mashup of magcal superpowers, family dinners, nonstop action, uncovered identities, and a dash of romance is no exception. Although you would be able to follow the basic plot (the good guys fight the bad guys) I do recommend reading the series in order so you can appreciate the character development and plot twists that occur across books.
