I liked this authors other mystery series. So I got this series but put off reading it.

I felt the reviews here on PBS didnt tell me enough to help me decide If I wanted to read this book real fast to mail it out for a swap or just mail it off unread. So used the link and headed over to Amazona reviews. I found them very confusing in range from loved it hated it. Ok so I said I will read the first 100 pages and if I dont like it I will quit.

Also keep in mind I was reading this book out of order. I hadnt read book one yet and really didnt have time. So if it was too confusing to read out of order I too would stop and mail.

I was hooked by page 4. I found that I didnt need book one to read book two. This series is mildly darker than the IVY Malone series. Evil is very evil. But this book is in no way graphic or bloody. Someone complained about a cat but the details again about the dead cat were not bloody or gory. It was a dead cat. This dead cat happens near the end. This same cat complainer did not complain about the dead humans by the way.

The book kept me guessing on who the killer was, cause there were so many possibilities. This book wont scare you or give you nightmares.

I dont think the book was too religious, too romantic or too scary. I think this author knows how to deliver a good page turning mystery that has balance. After reading all those amazon reviews I am glad can say that this book has balance.
