I give this book a 3 star rating, and it was the true definition of a 'cozy'. I liked it, but did not love it. Mainly because of the repetition of the sheriff Ty Briscoe's, constant Texas handsome cowboy theme. Once or twice is enough! Also, there was some very lame cross the police barriers that Trixie pulled, that never would fly in real life. I know it's a cozy, but we have to have SOME type of basic respect for a homicide! There was some confusion with the two men in ACB's life, Sal and Nick. That was kind of hard to follow. The beauty pageant was a bit over the top, but entertaining. All in all the characters are very colorful, and interesting. The hook for me is the diner, and the geography. My home town is actually mentioned in this book, and I know the salmon fishing well, and the area depicted. So, that-for me was a winning situation.

If you know this series, I have to wonder if you-as I do-would like to 'see' ACB without her uniform of mumu's and weirdo jewelry? I would love to have the author dress her in a little black dress, with just lip gloss and eye makeup, and black heels. I bet she would be gorgeous.

All in all a fun, different, and quick reading cozy, and I am looking forward to the others.
