I love books set during the jazz era. This was the main reason I picked this up. Half way through I realized I'd already read this, probably when it first came out. Nonetheless, I finished what was as good a read in 2000 as it is now. I like the vampire tale where it's a bit more horror and a lot less sparkle (both have their place though)
