I did not enjoy this novel at all. While the adventure[s] was cool, it was very hard to get into because of the characters.

Everybody either has a bad attitude, a secret that they SHOULD share or they let the fear rule them. Why would I want to read about characters who are constantly bickering, fighting and scheming?

Magierre has turned into a complete 8itch; she started out wicked cool in "Dhampir", but not any more!
Leesil wants his mommy while refusing to accept his past. His refusal to talk to Magierre about any of it is going to destroy them, if he doesn't change.
Wynn. Oh my goodness!!!!! She is the stupidest, dumbest, completely assinine character EVER! How many times can she do something impulsive and without thinking and get away with it? I was really hoping that some of her decisions in this book would kill her, she deserves it.
The Faye/Dog really seems to be 2 dimensional now. I had hopes for him after "Rebel Fay" but this book killed them.
Everybody else. Angsty secrets and betrayals of what they thought of ideals.

Blah. I'm going to read the next book in the Noble Dead series but if the tone stays the same, I'm done. I'm not going to waste my time with characters I hate.
