It is 1942, and a young woman's battered corpse has just been discovered in the Blue Room of the White House.
It's another case for Eleanor Roosevelt, detective, in the latest of her son Elliot's affectionate fictional portraits. Set against a backdrop of Washington at war, "Murder in the Blue Room" is a lively and complex mystery that features cameo appearances by figures ranging from Soviet Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov to a young administrator named Nelson Rockefeller.
