Wish they had books like this when I was in school. It says it is for 4th to 6th graders, but I personally see it useful to highschool, college and adults. It has it all in a nutshell, easy to access the information, colorful and easy to understand. Great for when you need a bit of information and don't want to use a search engine and cull thru. It has North America before 1775 to the 20th century. It also covers American government, presidents, capitals of the states and more.
It is also great if you just want to brush up on your history or understand some things that were never clear to you when you were in school. I like this book! It is a jewel to have!
