Vampires, angels(of a sort),secret government programs/cover-ups, serial killers and FBI profilers- this book has it all.At the start,I had my reservations about this would work, but most of the time, the author pulled it off. There were points where the sheer number of 'sides' and characters involved became confusing. Also, the romantic relationship between Heather Wallace and Dante Baptiste was difficult to buy into, at least at this point of character development;these characters seem to be coming from utterly different places emotionally. While each finds something in the other that is admirable that draws them together, there is little to suggest the blazing passion that suddenly appears. I ordered the second book at the same time, and liked this well enough to finish the other but I am not sure I would go out of my way to track down more of the series.
