Summary:
Manolito has donned the nickname of Four-Eyes. All of the cool people have nicknames in Manolito's eyes. His best friend is Big Ears, but he also hangs out with the One-And-Only Susana (who is the girlfriend to everyone), Ozzy the Bully, and Paquito Medina (who is super smart). This group of kids seem to get into more trouble than they know what to do with. Manolito hangs out in the park, attempts to copy in class, watches Tasmanian Devil cartoons with the One-and-Only Susana in order for her to become his girlfriend, and even gets punched by Ozzy the Bully. He constantly breaks his glasses and gets chewed out by his mother.

My thoughts:
This is a short novel that will keep you laughing throughout. Manolito is a character that reaches many ages. While I often feel that he is younger than 10 in his actions, because he seems so oblivious to his behaviors, he also speaks with a higher level of vocabulary than a general 10 year old. I also feel like the mistakes that he makes and the freedom that he has would fit the intended audience better than a younger child even though the reading level could probably go down to a high second grade level. Overall, this is a very quick, very fun read that will leave young and old giggling about the misadventures of Manolito Four-Eyes, his filthy feet gang, and Super Prostate Grandpa.
