Book Review of Cougar Cub Tales: The Sneezy Wheezy Day

Cougar Cub Tales: The Sneezy Wheezy Day

Two cougar cubs, a brother and sister, spend their day running, playing and practicing their pouncing. But after a refreshing dip in a mountain pool, brother doesn't feel so well; he's weak, drooling, feeling hot and down right yucky. Sister tries to help him by seeking the advice of different forest creatures, but nothing seems to help. Finally, they return home and brother collapses. Sister fixes him a cup of kitty cat tea, gives him his blanky and his favorite pillow. Soon brother is sleeping and when he awakes he feels much better.

This story of the love and care between the brother and sister cougar is charming and one that can easily be translated to the relationship between the brothers and sisters who will read the book. The watercolor illustrations are vibrant and feature both well-known forest creatures like the grizzly bear and lesser-known ones like the razorback hog. The text is on one page and the facing page is filled with a picture that corresponds to that text.

I was provided with a free digital copy of this title by the publisher for review.
