I enjoyed this book. It revealed the weaknesses and sheer humanity of people and how secrets kept often impact more than actual events. There were weaknesses in the story though- uneven narratives and I am not sure that all the characters were fully drawn enough to really pull out their impact on the story- for example, the priest was obviously drawn in in a way to set him up as a villain, but he was actually irrelevant- sometimes I felt that characters were there only to play the role of red herring.

It was a good read though and one that I would recommend to others.
