I obtained this copy from a branch library sale shelf to help out a PBS comrade who is wishing for it. Flipping through it, I find it cleverly done. The author is known for a cook book and is expanding the horizon here. Subjects are laid out in alphabetical order: bowls, cat flu, gates and doors, litter boxes, mange, tails, wounds, etc. Each section ends with further succinct advice, 'pet'peeves.'
For example, for dogs with kennel cough there are six suggestions, each with a paragraph of explanation. Huggies Baby Wipes (to clean mucus from the dog's eye and nose), hydrogen peroxide and Sue Bee Honey, Lipton Peppermint Tea, Pedialyte, Robitussin, and Sue Bee Honey. If this does not cure in seven to ten days or if the dog exudes white foam or loses appetite, a visit to the vet is in order.
It seems to me that this book will reduce expensive calls on the vet.
