An audacious and improbable plot: five college-age Chinese-American kids band together to steal five artworks looted from China's Summer Palace when it was sacked by French and British troops in 1860. The author did an excellent job of differentiating the five kids, although I wasn't quite convinced by their purported motives. As with any heist novel or movie, you're powerfully propelled to keep reading to see whether or not and how the scheme succeeds.

Very well done for a first novel - by an author who is currently in medical school, no less.
