This new novel by the author of Stardust Dreams (NAL, 1993) takes as its premise the gang rape of five coeds at Dominion University by an immoral group of fraternity brothers. Years later, as the story begins, one of those fraternity brothers is being confirmed by the Senate as Secretary of Housing in an atmosphere reminiscent of the Hill-Thomas hearings. ("Mizz Wallace, did you or did you not willingly take Senator Ziegler's penis into your mouth on more than one occasion?") Senator Ziegler's murder and the subsequent deaths of two others involved in the long-ago rape lead authorities to suspect heroine Holly Kaufman and fellow members of "The Little Sister Society." Stiff, unlikable characters and uninspired writing with too many shock vulgarities diminish what could have been an interesting story of vengeance for the exploitation of the "weaker sex." Not recommended.
