I picked up this book a dozen years ago and stil reread it every once in a while. I have 3 favorite things about this book and 1 dissapointment.

I LOVE that the heroine, Gabrielle, is physically flawed. She's curvacious, and -like most curvy women- resents it until she discovers that the man she loves finds it irresistable.

I LOVE that the dialogue is written with the brogue included. As I was only 14 and a terrible reader when I first read this, I had the devil's own time understanding it, but it made me read the story ever more carefully. And I fell in love with Gaelic culture because of this book!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Connor, the book's hero. If ever there is a drool-worthy fictional man, he epitomizes male perfection to me. If you fit his description-- FIND ME!!!

My only disappointment came when this story ended. I could read about Gabrielle and Connor forever. I enjoy every subtle nuance from social boundaries to gender roles this book brought to life.

Read it! But get your own copy, I won't share! =)
