This book review is coming a little late because of a small problem with my PO. I received an empty envelope:) Not a huge problem but no way I could do a review of the book that week. So I was shipped another copy and now I am posting my review. I was very impressed with this book and it has given me some insight about the time period back then.

Those of you who know me know that I am not a big fan of Biblical novels. Mainly because a lot of things are added that probably didn't happen. But I think this book was very well written and historically accurate. The love story of Solomon and Arielah is woven through this book in a manner that is portrayed in the book of Song of Solomon. I loved how this book was written and it staid true to the Bible story. One thing I found amazing was how wild a time it was back then. The disarray of the harem and the northern states of Israel. This is something I knew happend but not to that extent. Mesu really shows this to a great extent in this book.

Just as a disclaimer, there are several spots in here that are pretty explicit, but it is all taken from the Song of Solomon. I would caution you beforehand because it is somewhat shocking reading this in a CF book, but it is all found verse for verse in scripture. It is a love story.

If you are a lover of Biblical history, this is a book you will want to pick up. This shows Solomon's struggle with women and his struggle as well to follow in David's footsteps. A good novel! I really enjoyed it!
