Tempted: Little Miss Innocent? / Annie, Get Your Guy / Messing Around With Max

This anthology was just OK for me. You can tell this is some of Foster's earlier work because some of the dialogue was really contrived. Perfect example: in Little Miss Innocent, Daniel says "hurt like the devil" at least twice. I'm sorry, have we suddenly been transported to the early 1900s?? That's just an example, but it's the sort of thing that really pulls me out of the story, and there was a lot of this. Messing Around with Max was my favorite story by far. The premise was silly, but I thought the dialogue and the characters' interactions were, on the whole, much more believable than in the other 2 stories.

Bottom line, definitely not Foster's best work, and these are just so-so for me.
