JR Ward has done it yet again. Another great book in this series. The book is as always hot, sexy, and steamy. Of coarse the men are beyond sexy.

In this book we see Phury coming to grips with the choices he has made, his own self-loathing, and his addiction to the Red Smoke. Phury is battling against his own mind and his own hero complex. He must be everyone's hero/savior while constantly destroying his life.

Cormia, a Chosen, of the Scribe Virgin is destined to be the First Mate to Phury. At first when she was promised to Vishous it was not something she wanted to fulfill. Yet when Phury steps in to take Vischous' place Cormia is drawn to him. Seeing the good sould and heart Phury has even if he can't see it for himself. Cormia not the typical Chosen thinks of things that she wants and not what The Scribe virgin/The Chosen want as a collective. The more she lingers in the "other side" (the mortal world) the more she discovers about herself and the more independent she becomes.

Phury feels drawn to Cormia and struggles with his decision to be the Primale not truly knowing if he can be with all of the chosen rather than just being with Cormia. Phury must overcome his own addicition and self loathing though if he truly wants to be with Cormia. Can her love for him save him from himself and help him see the light he has. You have to read the book to find out my friends.
