The time is now; the setting is the coastal villaage of La Boca in a Central American country. At the center is Leon Green, the North American manager of a run-down hotel. He has hinted that he is on the run from someone or something unspeakable. He is seemingly rootless, detached from the life around him, yet willingly caught in a tender web of sex, involved with two women at once. One is the beautiful Pilar, a revolutionary in hiding. The other is Lourdes - young, wild, and markedly intelligent. THE GEOGRAPHY OF DESIRE is about lives stretched taut between opposing magnetic fields, propelled at the same time by desire and the fear of involvement, by an ideal of romance and a hunger to be left in peace, by love and by selfishness.
