Brenna Spector is a private investigator who has a fascinating ability- she can recall any day in her life with photographic clarity and all 5 senses. She has a rare condition called hyperthymestic syndrome (which actually exists!), and struggles to stay in the present. She's able to use her ability to help her to solve her cases, including a cold case for a missing six-year old girl. She was drawn to the case due to similarities with her own sister's disappearance. Brenna gets pulled deeper and deeper into the case, and soon- her own life is in danger.

This was a really interesting book. I was wondering how I'd feel about the main character popping into the past all the time, but it was very well done and enhanced the story. By the end, I was really flipping pages to see what would happen. Then I saw that there are two more in this series, and off I went to find book 2!
