The front flap says this book is a follow-up to Shigenkuni's A BRIDGE BETWEEN US, it can be considered as a stand alone, meaning it isn't necessary to have first read A Bridge Between Us.

Lily is a 35 year old woman who seems, in her estimation, to have the perfect life but she then enters into a relationship with a collegue and nothing in her life is as perfect as she believes.

Part of Lily's upset is her father, who comes to stay and is quickly slipping into dementia and disassociation putting a further strain on Lily's world.

Interesting enough read and I would most likely read more by Shigekuni.
