Great mystery and plotting. I would recommend that you KNOW your elizabethan history before attempting this book. However, I started at the 9th in the series, so the earlier books may have explained more of who the characters were in the place of knowledge of the history. Very accurate descriptions, and historical geographic locations. VERY enjoyable read...I will have to read the previous 8 in the series.
