This is a really cool book, even for people that wouldn't be considered "trivie-junkies" like myself. But I still couldn't finish it. Honestly, I didn't even get 20 pages in. The book is thick, it's awkward to hold and read. Even sitting in the comfort of my own home I wasn't near comfortable with this book.
There are dozens and dozens of one/two sentence "paragraphs" on each page, along with one or two very small illustrations and while this serves to give more facts to the reader it also takes away in other circumstances, one of which being the awkwardness of the book. It's not easy to put the book down then pick up later, where did you leave off?
The facts are interesting for the most part but the sheer number of them made it impossible for me to remember hardly any of them, even one minute after reading them.
I think a slimmer book, executed in a different form, would have done wonders for this and if I ever find a Ripley's book like what I have pictured in my mind I'll definitely try it again.
Hopefully others will have an easier time with this than I did.
