Book Review of The Sea Witch

The Sea Witch

I have read many World War 2 books over the years. They have ranged from near soap-operas to overly technical books. The Sea Witch is neither of these, but a story of a single mission to show what the Catalina sea plane and Black Cat squadrons are all about.

As an audio book, this story is surprisingly quick, the unabridged reading lasting only 2½ hours. While the story is straightforward and easy to follow, sometimes Dick Hill, as the narrator, makes it difficult to separate which character is speaking to us. However his limited voices do not take away from the "experience" in the Catalina.

Overall the book is enjoyable for such a short period, and ends before the characters become annoying.
