This is the second book in Yasmine's Fly By Night series, and it is fantastic. I love all her books, and this series fleshes out Shimmer, an orphaned blue dragon who was exiled to earth after robbing a fellow dragon in the Dragon Reaches. Exile was definitely a blessing, if she had remained in the Dragon Reaches, she'd be dead by now. Instead, she has wound up at the Fly By Night Magical lnvestigations Agency with Alex Radcliffe, the vampire owner of the agency, as her parole officer and lover.

In this story, Shimmer and her coworkers find themselves hunting a serial killer who is murdering the elderly Fae in Seattle. In addition, she is trying to find information about the house across the street from her home. It appears that it is haunted by the ghost of the previous owner, a woman who was committed to the insane asylum for murdering her family. Throw in Glenda, Alex's former girlfriend who is also a succubus, and a very nasty piece of work, and Shimmer will be lucky to survive, let alone solve all the mysteries surrounding her.

I love Yasmine's stories, I got hooked on her Otherworld series, and I'm so glad that she is now expanding the minor characters in that series. I think if you like mystery and paranormal, you'll fall in love with her stories and characters too.
