Loved this first sequel to Twilight! The introduction of the werewolves added a lot to the story--I really liked the character of Jacob in the movie too so was glad to see his character expanded in the sequel. The description of Bella's deep depression is very realistic.
However, this book was not as well written as the first book. And it really rushed the story--the Cullens don't return to the plot til page 382 of 563 total. Meyer whips thru Alice and Bella's trip to Italy to visit the Volturi and save Edward--that should have taken a couple hundred pages based on her typical attention to detail.
