Everyday Mexican: Easy Favorite Mexican Recipes to Make at Home

I love this cookbook for many reasons. I make my own Mexican seasoning mixes because the individual packages are expensive, and the mixes are easy to make. I also have to reduce sodium in my diet, and making my mixtures allows me to do that. This is a comprehensive Mexican cookbook with all the usual concoctions a person might want to make when in a Mexican food mood. I was surprised to see several vegetarian recipes.

Besides SAUCES, DRESSINGS, AND SEASONINGS, the author included BREAKFAST, APPETIZERS, SOUPS, POULTRY, BEEF, PORK & LAMB RECIPES, FISH & SEAFOOD, VEGETARIAN MAINS & SIDES, DESSERTS & DRINKS. I was amazed to read about Horchata. It is very popular at local restaurants, but I had no idea how it was made. Would you believe uncooked rice, cinnamon sticks, milk, water, and sugar?

There is one recipe that I think is incorrect: Veracruz Sea Bass. It does not mention when the fish is added to the sauce.

The recipes are without photos or nutritional information. However, it includes a summary of the dish, prep and cooking times, plus the number of servings. This is a book that I will refer to time and again. This is an excellent collection of Mexican foods.
