The purpose of this and other books developed by United Way of Northeast Florida Life: Act 2 initiative, is to enhance multigenerational understanding and appreciation. Positive stories and images of older people provide young children with accurate perceptions of the contributions older people bring to them and their community. These books, when read to a child by a parent or other adult, are intended to result in a converation with the child about the value of older people.
