Young witch Savannah Levine is left in charge of the detective agency while Paige and Lucas are on vacation. Private Investigator Jesse Aanes, an associate of the agency, approaches her to ask for help on a murder investigation that may lead to a serial killer. He tells her that the clues show supernatural elements. Soon Savannah is investigating the death of three women in a small town with many secrets. With the help of Jesse, half-demon Adam Vasic, and a half-brother of a murder victim, Detective Michael Kennedy, Savannah sets off to prove that she is ready to take on her first solo case.

Savannah was first introduced as a 12 year old brat with both witch and sorcerer powers in book 2 of the series. Now in book 11, she is 21 years old and matured considerably. She's helped Paige, Lucas and Adam in their investigations, but wants to prove herself with this one. There is a solid mystery and several suspects. I did figure out parts of it, and was surprised by other things that were uncovered. The only drawback is the end of the story might as well of had "to be continued" and the end. Not everything was sewn up tight in this book, but it looks like the next book picks up where this left off. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
