I mostly enjoyed Kiss the Dead. My favorite character, Edward, is in it, and I'm always happy to see Edward in Anita Blake's world. On the other hand, I've never really liked Jean-Claude's lover, Asher, and he's up to his old tricks in plenty scenes. The storyline covers a lot of ground but doesn't make many big changes. I'm assuming we'll learn more in up coming novels. This one doesn't stand well as an alone story. The story line was hard to follow and I pity anyone who picked it up without having read the previous 20 books.

Over all I was satisfied with it.
