A pre-teen boy yearns for real adventure and through an antique painting time travels to 1775 Boston and helps Paul Revere. The book conveys history of the Revolutionary War in a way that a child could imagine themselves there. Lots of detailed black & white pencil illustrations help further the feeling of what it could have been like to suddenly be thrust into the past.
