Steve is a loose cannon in court and wins by unconventional means... including getting both him and Victoria, a by-the-book prosecuting newbie lawyer, tossed in the slammer for contempt. There's also Bobby, he is an autistic kid his druggie sister treated like an animal. Steve rescued the kid from a cage in a commune from hell. A ritzy murder case looks like the perfect way for both Victoria to get noticed as a serious lawyer and get Steve out of his low rent hole, taking pro bono cases for the poor and hopeless. When Steve outmaneuvers Victoria for defending the rich lady charged with choking her husband to death during sex with restraints, whips, and other delights Steve proposes a partnership with Victoria (instead of her getting him disbarred). While fighting like crazy over proper court behavior and his personal frat-boy lifestyle, the two must play detective to discover just what happened that night.
