This was my first book by this author and the blurbs on the cover led me to believe she was a,quote, "master of the genre." I found that praise to be excessive, as she is a competent writer and clearly likes her characters, but this was not a compelling read. The story did get better once they got married, but I missed the wittiness I look for in Signet Regencies.
