Second book starring Wiggins, the leader of Sherlock's Irregulars, but all grown up. I read "the irregular", the first book in the series. This time., Wiggins becomes more of a drunken thug than an illiterate searcher after truth and justice.
The book is too "busy", with suffragettes, German spies, an embassy that is actually a bordello, protected by a maxim machine gun in the middle of London, socialist protests about the exploitation of the poor, and much more.
Wiggins pulls some of the tricks that Holmes taught him, but mostly looks for another pub for a beer and a punch up.
It is left dangling to make you read the next volume, but I will not.
