If you are a jewelry "buff" you will definitely want to have this book. Elizabeth Taylor had an enormous collection of fine jewels and this coffee-table size book has wonderful pictures of many of the famous ones: the Krupp diamond, the Peregrina pearl, etc. and many lovely photographs of Elizabeth Taylor wearing the pieces discussed. The jewelry is examined in life sections, from charm bracelets from the 1950's to her marriage to Michael Todd; through the Sixties and through her Malcolm Forbes-dating days. For the Michael Jackson fan, there's even a section on jewelry he gave her.

She also designed several pieces of jewelry and these pieces are included, with sketches and descriptions of the process. Best of all in my opinion is the way in which Ms. Taylor "talks" to the reader. She tells about each piece, who gave it, what the jewels have meant to her, and even what the pieces meant to the men (especially Mike Todd and Richard Burton) who gave them to her. The book is a lovely tribute, not only to Elizabeth Taylor's jewelry but to her feelings for the most important people and occasions in her life.
