Well, I slogged through this well written tale of a reluctant astronaut, Ryland Grace, entrusted with finding a solution that will save the earth from a life form that devours energy from the sun - a mega climate change in the works. In any case, the detail that Weir placed in this book is boring to the nth degree. For instance, I didn't need to know the steps required to clean a contaminated fuel cell, I just needed to know that the cell was cleaned. Since this was the first of Weir's books that I have read, I don't know if this is Weir's style or just a way of upping the word count of the novel, but it caused me to skim a lot of pages.

The book did keep my interest and it was well written (even if a bit verbose). Three and a half stars.
