This is an amazing story of courage, more relevant today than ever. Vashti's courage is a testament to the power of one. It was especially poignant for me, because I attended elementary school in Champaign, Illinois ten years after she won her case. I cannot imagine what it would have been like had the Board of Education prevailed. Thank you so much, Vashti, for you single-minded fight to save the very first amendment to our constitution.
