I LOVED this book. It's completely unique because the story of family life is told through the eyes of the family dog Enzo. The fact that Enzo doesn't always understand what is happening around him (even though the reader does) makes him all the more endearing.

On the last night of his life Enzo is taking stock of all that he saw and hoping he was a good dog so that he'd be granted his dearest wish...to be reincarnated as a human. The book moves along at just the right pace and there were parts that had me laughing out loud, followed by parts that had me pretty much bawling my eyes out.

Stein definitely has a flair for storytelling. Pick this one up!
