I almost put this book down after the first few chapters, because I didn't know how many more fanciful stories that I wanted to read. The stories are for a purpose, the reader feels the same frustration that Meg feels with her mother's stories and searching for the real truth of her childhood.
I read this book in one afternoon. It is a gentle story, without anything to prevent a younger audience. The mother is dying and the people in her life are coming to terms with their potential loss. In the end, it is uplifting and more thoughtful than expected.
