This book was okay, but it had a little (okay a lot) too much domination/jerkish behavior on the part of the "hero" for my tastes. Where it went wrong for me was his insistence on total domination/submission. The heroine had some self esteem issues that he chose to deal with, not with understanding, support and care, but with punishments and insistence that she trust him (immediately, of course). Naturally, when she showed any lack of complete trust, he punished her yet again - but she came to discover that she was into the whole pleasure/pain thing so some of that worked for her. LOL This book almost met the wall a couple of times! He forced her to adress him as "Yes, Milord" at all times, wouldn't allow her to even look at him unless he gave her permission first, and made it glaringly clear that everything was for *his* pleasure, not hers. Oh puh-leeze. LOL At times I wasn't sure which one I wanted to smack more! Having said all that though, I'm glad I at least finished it. It did get better towards the end. It wasn't bad, just not my cuppa.
