This is a surprisingly realistic look at what it would be like to be an immortal. Bacchus has a "been there, done that" attitude, with an air not of arrogance, but of a retiree from what he sees as his salad days. Now, he's sort of biding his time, still dealing with fallout with some of the other Greek luminaries and all the intrigue that ensues. The book introduces recurring characters such as Joe Theseus (Bacchus' apparent rival) and The Eyeball Kid--a sociopath with a dozen pairs of eyes (no, I don't know how he can walk around like normal).

At times humorous, at times gritty and down-to-earth. All told, this is one of the more captivating independent comics I've read. I definitely want to track down the rest of the series.
