Fictionalized account of the life of Johannes Gutenberg. Second book I've read about him and his inventions, and while both were fiction,it seems unavoidable to conclude that he was a wheeler-dealer who sometimes used people to his own ends. Whether those ends were "justified" is up to the reader. (Morrison does manage to work in multiple printing-related puns without the slightest blush or apology.)
