I found this rather tiresome. It is a small book that I read in a day. No problem getting through it. The author indulges in artistic layouts of text, perhaps a way to emphasize some phrases over others. I did not become fond of any of the characters, except for the young ill-fated student who wanted to write a book about Jack Taylor. As for the hard-drinking Taylor...no.

Taylor wants to end the reign of a professor who has had too easy a time with some female students, who never really recover. Does he succeed?
