Book Review of Bridal Bargains: Secrets to Throwing a Fantastic Wedding on a Realistic Budget (Bridal Bargains)

reviewed on + 6 more book reviews

One of the best books I have found so far on weddings. The book is about how to shop smart and find great deals wedding expenses, and also about how to avoid the scams that vendors often try to pull, knowing that weddings are full of novice buyers and generally don't create any form of repeat business.

This book is a fantastic wake-up call to budgeting realistically for a wedding and a wonderful counter-balance to all the magazines and books that try to push your emotional buttons, gushing about this "once in a lifetime experience" and the "wedding you have always dreamed of" and so on and so forth--- in an effort to manipulate your dreams so that you will try to come up with unrealistic amounts of money to do whatever you think it is that everybody else is doing. It is about finding the right questions to ask to know the fees that places will end up charging you so that you know before you commit to anything. It is about finding ways to create the wedding you want by shopping smart and knowing where to look-- and even about saving money for your guests and the people you love. While I wouldn't use it as guide for finding creative wedding ideas, it is a fabulous way to grab some really practical ideas and tips about how to get from point A to point B--- without becoming a financial black hole.
