This was a quick paced and very interesting glimpse into a little known position in the Reich. Magda was a taster, she and others tasted Hitler's meals to make sure he wasn't poisoned.
There are a lot of historical facts included within the story but as the author makes a point to say it is not a real story of a actual person, there were real people she modeled some of the characters after and timelines but that is it.
It does a wonderful job showing the stress of being in the Reich and the stress of not being in the Reich. It becomes clear to Magda that living a fine line to survive is the only chance she has.
Very interesting, keeps your attention and makes you wonder.
