The author is a photojournalist, a former food editor for a newspaper, and a native of the Southwest. The coloful, beautiful, interesting photos alone would make the book worthwhile. The recipes, enhanced with pertinent data make the book a must read. Here's a sampling of these traditional recipes: Zuni Corn Soup; San Ildefonso Salsa; Green Chili Stew; Juniper lamb Stew; Indian Mish Mash; Navajo Kneel Down Bread; Pinon Cakes.
