I picked this book up because one of my favorite authors, Eloisa James, recommended it in her blog (http://eloisajames.net/bookstolove/). It's a little old, as far as romances go, so it clings to some tropes that seem a little bit forced in a "contemporary" romance in 2011 (the insistence on the heroine's virginity, for example), but overall, Ms. James got it right. It really is a lovely book, with a real sense of history between the hero and heroine and a real sense of the negotiation of falling in love, even if some of the circumstances are a little outrageous. If you like romances that tug at your heartstrings, rather than tickle your funny bone, this book is for you.
