I have to admit I read more than 3/4 of the book and then gave up. I couldn't connect emotionally with the characters. I think disjointed was a good way to describe the book.

There were so many things going on in Grace's life but things are placed in the background as other things show up. What was supposed to be a really emotional development with her grandfather kind of gets put away when she decides to open the store with her friends. The emotional development with her friends doesn't really happen, you are just told repeatedly they are closed. This keeps going on. As a result I felt like I got a bunch of little parts of Grace's life that never really meet up. Everyone was so flat.

It wasn't a horrible book. Just not the type of writing style I enjoy. This is my second attempt at reading Skye and both times I didn't care for her style, so most likely I won't try her again.
