This is a great book about the civil rights movement in 1963. The Watsons are Dad, Mom from Alabama, and 3 kids Buford,13 years old; Kenny 9 years old; and Joetta 5 years old from Flint, Michigan. The Watsons decide and prepare to go to Birmingham, Alabama and they get ready and go in the summer of 1963. What they do not know is that there were be a black church in Birmingham bombed and one of their kids will be in it. Being from Flint, Michigan they are not prepared for the evil some white folks will do in the civil rights movement.
